[Video] WHY I CARRY: Mother of Three Murdered After Being Lured to Home With Promise of Baby Clothes
Here is another one of our “Why I Carry” stories. These stories, unlike our defensive gun use stories, take a look at situations that may have turned out very differently if the victim(s) had been armed. These stories are the “other side of the coin” so to speak and serve as an important reminder as to why it’s important to take responsibility for your own personal safety.
A Georgia mother of three is dead after being lured into the home of a person she had never met over the promise of free baby clothes.
According to KLTV,
A Catoosa County mother of three was shot and killed Friday in a home she had never been to before, after investigators said she went there to meet a woman who was going to give her baby clothes.
Turns out, according to Catoosa County Sheriff Gary Sisk that Natalia Roberts, 30, had been lured to the home at 227 Smoketree Circle to be killed.
“Catherine Goins had been living a ruse that she was pregnant with her most recent boyfriend’s baby, but he had recently learned that she was not pregnant and left her,” Sisk said. “Catherine Goins killed Natalia Roberts because she wanted her baby.”
As always, I have to point out that a firearm may or may not have helped prevent or stop this crime. However, I prefer to have options whenever possible over simply begging for my life.
When doing any sort of transaction with anyone who you do not know, whether you met them online or elsewhere, you should always meet them in a public place and always go armed, preferably with a friend, who is also armed.
