baseball batAdd bats to the list of things not to bring to a gunfight. A would be mugger learned that lesson the hard way in Toledo, OH.

According to media reports, a man armed with a bat attacked a couple in broad daylight in a parking lot.

The bat wielding attacker managed to hit the male resident in the arm with the bat. However, the man’s girlfriend quickly sprang into action.

She drew a concealed handgun from her purse and fired two shots at the assailant, who was hit once in the leg.

The suspect managed to escape the scene in a nearby car with at least one accomplice. The man quickly showed up at an area hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.

The woman who fired the shot will not be charged and it’s currently unclear what charges the alleged attacker will face. It is also unknown if the accomplice was caught or if he remains at large.

This is the 64th defensive gun use we’ve documented in the state of Ohio and the 1,131st defensive gun use we’ve documented overall.
