A Marine veteran in Katy, Texas was the victim of a devastating burglary just three weeks ago. Thieves stole laptops, a tablet, cell phones and the homeowner’s Glock pistol.
When someone threw a rock through his bedroom window earlier this week, Dan Reynolds was ready.
Reynolds, who was already carrying a handgun, grabbed a 12 gauge shotgun he bough after the first burglary and went to investigate the sound of breaking glass coming from his bedroom.
Reynolds saw a man wearing a hoodie attempting to enter the home through the window. Reynolds wasted no time. He immediately leveled the shotgun and fired one shot directly into the suspect’s chest.
The suspect fell backwards out the window, but he was able to jump a nearby fence and get away. The suspect left a very visible trail of blood which disappeared in the middle of the road.
Police are on the lookout for anyone showing up at area hospitals with a gunshot wound.
According to Click2Houston:
“He’s not robbing me. He didn’t say anything. I didn’t say anything. I shot him and he fell back out the window and ran away,” Reynolds said.
“I don’t think he’ll come back, but if he does, we’ll handle it then,” said Reynolds.
