One suspected burglar is dead and another is in police custody in North Georgia following a suspected burglary attempt.

Two men broke into a home Catoosa County, GA and were confronted by the homeowner, who was armed.

The homeowner fired 1 shot at the suspects, which struck one of them in the neck.

Both suspects managed to flee the scene, but were quickly found by police when they pulled over a short distance away in order to seek medical attention.

One of the suspects was taken into custody and the injured suspect was transported to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Police have not released the identities of any of the parties involved or any of the charges that will be filed.

It does appear that the case will fall under Georgia’ self defense laws based on early facts.

This is the 57th defensive gun use we’ve documented in the state of GA, and 1,008th overall.
