The owner of a Memphis, TN business was fed up after having her shop robbed twice at gun point. The owner assumed that the robbers saw her business as an easy target, so she decided to change that.

She purchased a .38 caliber revolver, and when the crooks came back for a third time, she was ready.

When two men entered the store and pointed a gun at the owner and her sister, she didn’t think – she reacted. She drew her own gun and fired a shot at the suspects. She missed, and the suspects didn’t wait around to give her a second chance.

Both suspects fled, but both were captured by police a short distance away.

According to WMCTV, the business owner was tired of being a victim,

“Sometimes, you know, you just don’t think you react. You got the fear but you also got the anger. Because you’re tired of it and we work so hard for somebody to come and just rob us like that,” she said.

“I was not that kind of person that wanted to have a gun. And I never even thought that I would shoot at somebody, but when you’re in that situation where you say it’s my life or their life, it’s my life.”

This is another example of a defensive gun use in which no one was shot or hurt. Because of this fact, this incident will likely no be included in many self defense statistics or studies which often only include incidents where someone was shot.
