A suspected armed robber who was carrying a pellet gun had to resort to other tactics when things got physical during the attempted robbery of a Richmond, VA 7-11 convenience store.
According to WTVR, a man armed with a pellet gun entered the store and demanded money.
A physical altercation ensued with one of the clerks and the suspect bit the clerk.
During this altercation, another clerk drew a firearm and shot the suspect once.
The suspect then fled the store empty handed. He was apprehended by police nearby shortly thereafter.
The suspect was suffering from a graze type gunshot wound and is expected to be fine.
According to WTVR,
[Retired police captain Steve Neal] also said that even though despite the robber only had a pellet gun, any weapon should be taken seriously.
“So if I’m on the wrong side of that weapon. I’m going to take that seriously until I know otherwise,” Neal said. “Anyone that attacks you is sending a pretty clear message that their thinking is not right at the time.”
