UPDATE: It appears this whole incident may have been drug related. Sadly the homeowner got himself into this position he was in by engaging in illegal activities. We will leave this post up for historial purposes. Thanks to one of our readers for pointing out the additional facts. We always try to update stories whenever possible.

A homeowner in MS refused to be a victim when he fought back against a would be burglar.

The homeowner managed to shoot the intruder, who is believed to be another resident of the same apartment complex, once in the arm.

The suspect then retreated to a third story balcony, but with no way of escape the suspect was trapped until police arrived.

The suspect was treated at an area hospital and released to police.

He faces up to 10 years in jail if convicted of the charges against him.
