The homeowner acted as if he was going to comply and led the suspects to a bedroom where there was allegedly money. However, once in the bedroom, the homeowner was able to access a firearm.

A brief struggle ensued which resulted in the homeowner opening fire on the suspect, who was struck once in the hand. The physical altercation continued for a few more moments and ended when the suspects fled the residence.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the shot suspect is in custody and the second suspect remains at large,

Oakland County Sheriff deputies found the injured suspect at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, where he sought treatment for his gunshot wound. He was questioned and arrested, before being transported to Beaumont Hospital for additional treatment.

Police are searching for the second suspect, described as a white man, in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark coat and stocking cap.

The suspect who was shot has been placed under arrest, but the full list of charges he faces is not yet available.
