According to the Washington Post and Las Vegas police, a masked man wielding a sword attemtped to rob a Las Vegas Dairy Queen. One of the clerks working at the restuarant was armed. According to police, the clerk shot the suspect who collasped outside the restaurant. The suspect was transported to an area hospital where he died. No one else was injured in the incident.

Police say the shooting appears to be self defense, however they are verifying that the gun used was legally registered. According to Wikipedia, Nevada does not have a state requirement for registration, but Clark County does require handguns to be registered with a local law enforcement agency.
