A homeowner in Apple Valley, CA was checking on one of his properties when he noticed that the door had been kicked in.
The property owner soon discovered his gun safe had been broken into and several weapons stolen.
The owner had to leave the home later in the day to finalize the police report. He was unable to properly secure the property due to the damage to the door.
When he returned he found three young men inside the home going through his items. Fearing that the men may have been armed with the contents of his gun safe the elderly homeowner opened fire on the men.
All three fled once the shooting started. One of the rounds fired by the homeowner could not be found, but police are unsure if the suspected burglar was hit.
