Stock Gun Photo - s&w_mod29_bluThis is one of a series of defensive gun uses we’ve found this week in which an elderly victim used a gun to level the playing field against a younger assailant.

A home invader, armed with a baseball bat, forced his way into a South Carolina home in broad daylight.

The suspect then attacked a woman who was in the home.

The owner of the home, an elderly woman, grabbed a revolver and opened fire on the suspect, grazing him once in the head.

Both the victim and the suspect were taken to an area hospital to be treated for non life threatening injuries according to Fox Carolina.

The suspect, Richard Keese, age 54, is being held in the county jail on charges of burglary as well as attempted murder.

It is unclear what the relationship between the victim and the homeowner is or if a relationship existed between the victim and the suspect.

This is only the 25th defensive gun use we’ve documented from South Carolina.
