Two off duty police officers were visiting a bank to make a loan payment when three armed men burst from the building.

The officers jumped into action to try and detain the suspects.

When one of the suspects pointed a shotgun at the officers, he drew his personal weapon and shot the suspect, killing him.

The actions of the off duty officers allowed responding sheriff’s deputies to capture the other two suspects as they tried to flee the scene in an SUV.

The robbery attempt happened in broad daylight in Houston, TX.

Officials say the officer was at the bank as a private citizen and was not providing security or acting in an official role.
