stock raven 25“My neighbor, he’s the kind of guy you don’t mess with,” Harry Cornelius told WPTV about his 81 year old neighbor Rosko Rock. That is apparently very true.

According to reports, Dale Reese, 39, spotted his girlfriend’s car at Rock’s home. She was visiting a friend who rents a room from Rock.

Allegedly, Reese then slashed his girlfriend’s tires, forced his way into the home and began attacking his girlfriend and her friend.

Rock confronted the much younger Reese and told him to leave. When Reese started to approach Rock in a threatening manner, Rock drew a handgun and shot Reese.

Police say they do not expect Reese to survive his injuries. According to WPTV, the incident may have been out of character for Reese,

Daryl Rogers, who knows Reese and his girlfriend, said he never saw the couple fight when he was around them. Rogers said Reese is not only a father, but a friend to neighbors.

“I don’t see him doing what they say, being aggressive like that. I don’t see him going after nobody. He’s not an aggressive man,” said Rogers.

This is the 102nd defensive gun use we’ve documented in the state of Florida and the 1,084th defensive gun use we’ve documented overall.
