Harvey Weinstein, Who is Making Anti-NRA Movie, Swears to Stop Making Violent Movies… Sort Of
So I’m sure you’ve heard by now, Hollywood movie mogul Harvey Weinstein has said he is going to produce a movie that is supposed to take down the NRA (good luck with that).
Of course, the biggest immediate criticism of Weinstein is that he has personally made tens of millions (if not hundreds of millions) of dollars off movies that prominently feature guns.
In a recent interview with self proclaimed anti-gunner Piers Morgan, Weinstein addressed that allegation of hypocrisy and said he will no longer make movies that glorify guns and violence.
However, Weinstein said he would still make movies such as the extremely popular Lone Survivor. So you’ll make a movie that features good guys with guns, but you still want to see guns banned and/or highly regulated? OK, got it.
So I guess that means Weinstein will no longer be working with Quentin Tarantino on movies such as Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained? Weinstein was the executive producer for both of those movies.
No word yet on whether Weinstein will be donating the money he made from those movies to charity (I don’t think I’ll be holding my breath).
Weinstein made the announcement about the anti NRA movie earlier this week on the Howard Stern Radio Show.
