Gabby Giffords Creates Anti-Gun PAC, Begins Funneling Tens of Thousands to Anti-Gun Politicians
It looks like the battle for Congress in 2014 is starting to heat up.
Former Rep Gabby Giffords has setup a political action committee using the nearly $300,000 in her campaign fund.
The PAC will begin immediately funneling money to senators who supported federal gun control efforts earlier this year.
According to POLITICO,
The new entity will be called the Rights and Responsibilities PAC, which will hold the balance of $287,702 from her congressional campaign. The first donations will be to Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.), who along with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) worked on the bipartisan gun control measure, which did not clear the Senate.
Both senators had strong ratings from the National Rifle Association prior to their work on the bill, which arose after the deadly shootings in Newtown, Conn. left 20 children dead.
So it looks like the authors of this year’s most talked about federal gun control bill will be the first recipients of the cash.
Giffords has become increasingly more involved in gun control efforts in recent months.
