We expected that the Navy shooting would unfortunately be politicized by those who would seek to restrict gun ownership among law abiding citizens very quickly, however Henry Winkler (Fonzie) really jumped the shark on this one.

Winkler issued a tweet at 9:50am calling for more gun control in response to the incident.

Given the fact that it seems that there may have been multiple suspects, it is possible the incident was still actually ongoing when Winkler issued his political tweet (embedded below).

I guess Winkler hasn’t spent much time on military installations, where the carry of firearms is highly regulated and usually only security personnel and military police are armed.

We don’t even have all of the facts (we actually don’t even have a fraction of the facts yet) and already anti-gun celebrities are chiming in to politicize this horrific loss of life.

We also have reports coming from the DC Chief of Police which put the number of fatalities from the incident at 12 as of right now. Those numbers are unconfirmed.

Let’s all take a step back, let the authorities do their jobs and see what the facts actually end up being in the coming hours and days.
