The terrorist attack in Kenya on an upscale shopping mall is one of the single worst terrorist attacks this world has ever seen.

However, as bad as it was, it could have been a lot worse if not for a good guy with a gun.

A former British Royal Marine was having coffee with friends in the mall when the attack began.

Armed only with a handgun, facing numerous terrorists with automatic weapons, the man, seen in this picture, is credited with getting over 100 people safely out of the mall.

According to the Daily Mail,

A friend in Nairobi said: ‘What he did was so heroic. He was having coffee with friends when it happened.

‘He went back in 12 times and saved 100 people. Imagine going back in when you knew what was going on inside.’

The man is described as a former marine, and due to his background is most likely working as a private contractor within Kenya.

If everything checks out it sounds like a private citizen with a gun greatly reduced the loss of life during this terrible attack.
