This incident happened in Brazil, where, unfortunately citizens have little to no ability to defend themselves from armed criminals.

However, as you can see from the video, this does not stop criminals from carrying and using firearms.

The thieves pull right up to the motorcycle rider in broad daylight, with a gun drawn, put the gun in the rider’s face and attempt to steal his bike.

In this case, the victim was lucky that there was a plain clothes police officer nearby who exited his vehicle and opened fire on the would be bike thief.

The officer fires two shots and the would be thief goes to the ground.

According to media reports, the suspect was not killed and was taken into custody by authorities.

This video is a perfect example illustrating how bold criminals get when they know they are facing a disarmed populace.

These thieves obviously had no fear of reprisal from the citizen they were robbing and the only reason the incident happened as it did was because a law enforcement officer happened to be in the right place at the right time.
