It looks like Ruger will be expanding their new extremely popular LCR to include a new 9mm revolver.
The LCR line has been extremely popular for Ruger. Even in today’s world of pocket semi-autos and various carry system, the snub nose revolver remains a popular self defense choice for many shooters.
Previously, Ruger’s LCRs were only offered in .357 Mag, .38 SP., .22 WMR, and .22 LR The new version is chambered in the very popular and very affordable 9x19mm caliber.
This iteration of the LCR will actually be the heaviest version to date, coming in at just over 17 ounces.
The 9mm version will use the same blackened 400 series stainless steel that the .357 version currently utilizes.
According to a statement made on Ruger’s Facebook page, the new 9mm LCR will utilize moon clips and they will be included with the firearm.
Here’s a statement from Ruger released today about the new LCR,
“Since its introduction in 2009, the LCR has become extremely popular with conceal carry customers seeking the simplicity of a revolver,” said Chris Killoy, Ruger President and Chief Operating Officer. “Customers have been asking for a 9mm version due to ammo availability and compatibility with pistols. We were listening and have added a 9mm version of the LCR,” he concluded.
We’re sure Ruger will have a winner with this version.
