A beach safety officer and longtime life guard has been fired in Flordia following comments he made on his personal Facebook page calling Trayvon Martin a “thug”.

According to The Blaze,

Todd Snipes, a beach officer of 15 years who was stationed about 40 minutes from where Trayvon Martin was killed in Sanford, Fla., was initially suspended for the post he made on Facebook last month.

“Another thug gone,” Snipes wrote the night of George Zimmerman’s acquittal. “Pull up your pants and be respectful. Bye bye thug r.i.p.”

Snipes was originally suspended for the comments he made in regards to the trial.

George Zimmerman was acquitted by an all female jury in Florida last month in the 2012 shooting of Trayvon Martin.

The jury found that Zimmerman acted in self defense when he shot and killed Trayvon Martin.
