Byron Todd Jones is an American lawyer and the acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Byron Todd Jones will also be spending today taking an ice bath after getting BURNED by Texas Senator Ted Cruz during his confirmation heading.

Cruz asked Jones if prosecuting criminals who try to illegally purchase guns is a top priority of the Obama administration to which Jones basically said “Yes”.

Cruz then points out that only 44 of 48,000 failed background check attempts resulted in prosecution. Now, certainly some of those would be false positives, mistaken identity, or mistakes, but a large portion of those are surely prohibited criminals trying to buy guns.

If the Obama administration was truly interested in reducing gun crime (as they say) and not just disarming the American people, then wouldn’t this be a simple way to do it, handed to them on a silver platter?

Jones tries to defend his position and jumps around the issue for several minutes in the video and somehow started talking about terrorism and financial fraud. Um, what?
