thumbDemocrats keep saying that Republicans who vote against gun control are going to lose their jobs next election cycle. However, so far, it’s only Democrats whose jobs seem to be in danger.

Case in point. Connecticut recently passed some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation in the wake of the Newtown shootings. This legislation was rammed through the Democrat controlled state legislature with little to no insight or consultation with the pro gun community.

Now, CT Democrats are already seeing repercussions for their actions. According to an article by David Codrea, for the first time in 40 years, a pro gun Republican has won the CT State Legislature’s 53rd House District. The seat was vacated by an anti gun Democrat and a special election was held. Republican candidate Samuel Belsito won the election.

Many voters cited gun rights as an important issue and Belsito was on record saying he would have voted against the recent gun legislation.

This small victory for gun rights activists comes as two anti gun lawmakers are set to be recalled in Colorado following their support of strict gun control laws recently passed in that state.
