I guess there are absolutely no other issues facing the state of New York right now, because Senator Schumer is using his valuable time as a lawmaker to give press conferences on why 3D gun printing is bad and why these guns needs to be banned.

NY’s senators weren’t the only ones upset that apparently people can build things in their home.

According to the NY Daily News,

“Security checkpoints, background checks and gun regulations will do little good if criminals can print their own plastic firearms at home and bring those firearms through metal detectors with no one the wiser,” Israel said in a statement.

To Schumer, the ramifications of make-your-own untraceable and undetectable weapons are “stomach-churning.”

“Now anyone, a terrorist, someone who is mentally ill, a spousal abuser, a felon, can essentially open a gun factory in their garage,” Schumer said. “It must be stopped.”

Schumer thinks the process muse be outlawed. We’re not sure what this proposed legislation is aimed at doing. It’s already illegal to make a gun and then sell or transfer it to another person without having an expensive federal firearms license. Do they want to make it illegal to create a gun for personal use?

If so, how would you enforce that? Ban 3D printers? Make them heavily regulated? Because, let’s face it only law abiding citizens are going to follow any new laws.

The information is out there now, you can’t take it back.
