According to the Washington Times, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid shot down Dianne Feinstein’s proposed ban on “assault weapons” (her language, not ours) and said it will not be part of the base gun bill Senate Democrats hope to pass.

This means DiFi’s bill would have to stand on its own merit, which means that the bill is likely going nowhere.

The base bill will likely include some plan for universal background checks.

This might come as a victory to some, but beware, Democrats will likely try to use this to show their ability to compromise and push through a lesser bill.

Now would be a good time to let your Senators know that you do not support any new gun legislation.

Also, can we now stop charging an arm and a leg for ARs?
