One of the amendments proposed to the Democrat’s gun bill is an amendment to allow national reciprocity of concealed carry permits.

The measure was proposed by the Senator from Texas.

The amendment needed 60 votes to pass.

The amendment failed 57-43.

The measure would have made a carry permit in one state good across all states, even states who do not have concealed carry licenses.

Charles Schumer of NY delivered testimony prior to the vote saying it would be disastrous to allow concealed weapons in places like Times Square.

Some Second Amendment supporters feel that this amendment could infringe on state’s rights.
