Democratic Senator Running on PRO Gun Campaign, Attacks Bloomberg & Obama in New Ad
Democratic senator Mark Pryor has found himself the target of a relentless television ad campaign which is being financed by anti gun mayor Michael Bloomber.
The ads attack Pryor for voting against the senate’s universal background legislation back in April.
Now Pryor is striking back. He’s embracing the pro-gun label and attacking Democratic heavy hitters including Bloomberg and Obama in a new ad he’s released.
Pryor is up for reelection in 2014 and Bloomberg may try to fund a campaign of a primary challenger to get a more liberal Democrat into office. Many political analysts think this could backfire and end up costing the Democrats one of their rare Southern senate seats.
The video ad transcript is as follows,
The mayor of New York City is running ads against me because I opposed President Obama’s gun control legislation. Nothing in the Obama plan would have prevented tragedies like Newtown, Aurora, Tucson or even Jonesboro.
I’m committed to finding real solutions to gun violence while protecting our Second Amendment rights.
I’m Mark Pryor, and I approve this message because no one from New York or Washington tells me what to do. I listen to Arkansas
While I’m sure Mr. Pryor and I disagree on a lot of issues I do give him credit for standing up to the likes of Bloomberg.
