Congressman Earl Blumenauer tweeted the following immediately following reports of the recent shooting at a Portland, OR area high school.
Another shooting. I always hope tragedy will inspire action. Simple common sense steps make difference. Start w/universal background checks
— Earl Blumenauer (@repblumenauer) June 10, 2014
Straight out of the gun control playbook – never let a tragedy go to waste.
Notice how the congressman says *start* with universal background checks. This is indicative of the gun control agenda. Universal background checks or other seemingly minor restrictions are merely stepping stones to more involved legislation.
It’s also outrageous that with absolutely no known facts about this case that the congressman can say that a universal background check law would have helped prevent it at all.
