Now it looks like Maher has put his foot in his mouth again. During his show, Maher said the following, according to POLITICO,

“Now that liberals have forwarded their agenda by inserting a mass gay wedding into the Grammys, conservatives must match them tit-for-tat by having a mass shooting at the Country Music Awards,” Maher said Friday during his HBO program, “Real Time with Bill Maher.”

Maher’s comments reference the marriage ceremony of both heterosexual and same sex couples at this year’s Grammy awards ceremony.

Hollywood comedians have repeatedly made jokes in poor taste over the last couple of years targeting conservatives and libertarians. Being comedians they can of course always fall back on the “it was just a joke” excuse.

Maher’s opinons on gun rights came to head last year when he called out both Republicans and Democrats for failing to pass new gun control measures.

Maher then called the Second Amendment “bullshit”.

“I’m sorry, but this is the problem with the gun debate is that it’s a constant center-right debate. There’s no left in this debate. Everyone on the left is so afraid to say what should be said which is, ‘The Second Amendment is bullshit,’”
