A female sophomore student in Anaheim Hills, CA was force to change her shirt because the shirt promoted the National Rifle Association.

Sophomore Haley Bullwinkle was sent to the principal’s office of her high school after wearing the shirt to school last month for violating the school’s dress code which prohibits “violent” or “offensive” clothing.

The shirt features a buck, an American flag, a depiction of a hunter and the words “National Rifle Association of America: Protecting America’s Traditions Since 1871.”

The girl’s father, who is an NRA member and gave her the shirt, is understandably upset.

He has retained a lawyer and is seeking possible legal action against the school.

According to CBS, the father first tried to email the school principal and got the following response,

Principal Kimberly Fricker responded in an email, which said, in part, “The shirt had a gun on it, which is not allowed by school police. It’s protocol to have students change when they’re in violation of the dress code.”

This is just the latest example of the anti-gun hysteria which has swept our nation’s schools.
