Here is another one of our “Why I Carry” stories. These stories, unlike our defensive gun uses, take a look at situations that may have turned out very differently if the victim(s) had been armed. These stories also serve as an important reminder as to why it’s important to carry everyday.

A man on a bike tour in Buenos Aires, Argentina was almost the victim of an armed robbery in broad daylight on a tour of the city while riding a bicycle.

The man tried to give the armed suspect his bike, but the man wanted his backpack containing his camera equipment.

Somehow, the would be victim manages to escape from the armed suspect and locate a police officer.

Here is the description from the Youtube video,

I was on a bike tour in a rough part of Buenos Aires (Argentina) in broad daylight when a thief attempted to steal my camera gear at gunpoint. I miraculously just so happened to be recording with a gopro on my forehead and captured this amazing piece of footage!!

Of course, this incident took place in Argentina, and while Argentina does technically allow for permits to carry, I am unsure how easy they are to get.

It’s unclear if the suspect in this case was caught.

As always, I have to point out that a firearm may or may not have helped prevent or stop this crime. However, I prefer to have options whenever possible over simply begging for my life.
