According to Fox 5 DC:

A 19-year-old man was shot to death Tuesday morning while attempting to rob a woman in the Fernwood neighborhood on the Far South Side.

About 5:45 a.m., Laavion Goings approached the woman, 25, in the 500 block of West 103rd Street, displayed a weapon and tried to rob her, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
