According to local media reports, around 1am, a man came to the door and knocked. When the male occupant of the home cracked the door to see who was there, the suspect tried to force his way into the home.

The male resident resisted and fought back in an attempt to close the door.

During the struggle, the suspect fired once through the door of the home and struck the male resident in the hand.

A female resident of the home, described as the male resident’s girlfriend, was able to open fire on the suspect through an adjoining bedroom window.

The suspect fled the area. A description of the suspect is not available at this time.
