The homeowner, fearing the armed burglar, drew a gun he was carrying on his person and held the suspect at gunpoint.

The suspect then told the homeowner he was not going back to jail, drew a gun, and fired at the homeowner.

The homeowner returned fire, striking the suspect once in buttocks.

The suspect ran into a wooded area nearby.

Police K9 units found the man hiding, and still armed.

The suspect was on parole for other prior burglaries. He is being charged with attempted murder, burglary, felon in possession of firearms, and violating parole.
