A gas station clerk working at Mobil gas station in Florida found himself in a life threatening situation when two armed men entered the store and demanded money.

The clerk complied with their demands and turned over the cash in the register.

However, that apparently wasn’t good enough for the would be robbers as they then tried to shoot the clerk.

Fortunately, this clerk was carrying his own gun, which he drew and used to fire on the suspects.

The suspects fled once the would be victim fought back.

Police are still investigating the issue and say one of the suspects may have been shot.

According to NBC Miami, witnesses on scene were shaken up.

J.C. Davenport’s daughter Chiquita was at the gas station when the shots were fired.

“She told me somebody robbed the store and she was in her car. Her car got shot,” the father said. “She’s shaken up, so I jumped in my truck and came down 95 going 110 miles per hour. That’s my baby.”
