A 72 year old woman in Youngstown, Ohio rushed to her bedroom to grab her .22 revolver when she heard someone break the glass of her front window.
The woman fired a single shot at the intruder, but missed.
The homeowner then took control of the situation and held the suspect at gunpoint until police arrived.
The audio of the 911 call is available in the video below.
“I got him in the kitchen here,” the 72-year-old victim says. “What do you mean you have him in the kitchen,” the 911 operator responds.
The elderly woman says, “I got him sitting on the floor in the kitchen” and when asked if she has a weapon on him, she says, “Yes I do.”
The suspect originally said he broke into the home because someone was chasing him. Police have since investigated his claim and charged him with burglary.
The suspect suffered injuries from the glass window he broke and was treated at an area hospital.
