stock_327A homeowner in Fort Worth, TX was alerted by his burglar alarm that someone might have broken into his garage.

The homeowner grabbed a gun and went to investigate.

The homeowner found a suspected burglar in the garage and confronted him.

At some point during the confrontation, the homeowner fired several shots at the suspect, striking him twice.

After being shot, the suspect fled the home, but was found a short while later by responding police officers who followed a trail of blood in order to track the suspect.

According to NBC DWF, the homeowner may face charges, but based on Texas self defense law that seems unlikely to me.

Police have not released the identity of the suspect or the homeowner.

The suspect is in stable condition at an area hospital.
