Sixteen year old Isiah Haggins Jr. and another suspect identifed as Brandon Harris (who was just caught in the last couple of hours) entered a hip hop clothing store in Dayton, OH with plans of robbing it at gunpoint.

However, what the would be robbers didn’t expect was an armed store owner. The owner fired a single shot at the pair of robbers, hitting and killing Haggins. Harris fled the scene and was just recently located by police. He could possibly face murder charges for the death of his friend.

The family is now speaking out against the store owner and “demanding answers.” According to WHIO,

Haggins grandmother, Kay Haggins, said today that the family just wants wants answers.

“We just want answers … want to know what happened. where he was shot.” she said. “Was it self-defense? Because it’s their word and he’s not here to speak for himself. We are just going by what he said. I just want to know how my grandchild died.”

This seems to be a pretty clear case of self defense and the store owner is not expected to face any charges in the case. This is the second time the store has been robbed at gunpoint in recent years.

This is the 66th defensive gun use we’ve documented in the state of Ohio and the 1,192nd defensive gun use we’ve documented overall.
