Stock - gun in handA pizza deliveryman in Buffalo, NY found himself the target of a group of four men who tried to rob him as he attempted a delivery.

The deliveryman drew a concealed handgun and opened fire. One of the suspects was hit.

The suspect who was hit was apprehended by police, but the other three suspects managed to escape.

The apprehended suspect is described as being in fair condition at an area hospital.

Police say the deliveryman possesses a valid carry permit and the gun was legally registered.

It is not currently known if the deliveryman was injured during the incident.

Contrary to popular belief in many parts of the country, it is possible to get a carry permit outside of New York City in New York. However, the process is “may issue” leaving many at the mercy of their local issuing authorities.

This is the 13th defensive gun use we’ve documented in the state of New York and the 1,101st defensive gun use we’ve documented overall.
