Devin McClean was working at an AutoZone in VA when a serial robber, called the “Fake Beard Bandit” entered the store with a gun.

McClean, thinking quickly, ran to his vehicle, where he kept his personal handgun, retrieved the weapon and reentered the store.

McClean confronted the would be robber and caused him to flee the scene.

McClean’s manager and many people in the community hailed him as hero. However, two days later McClean was fired for breaking AutoZone’s corporate policy forbidding weapons in the store.

There are now several social media campaigns in place to raise awareness of the situation and some are calling for a boycott of AutoZone.

The would be robber is wanted for over 30 armed robberies in the area over the last year.
