A 14 year old boy in Charlotte, NC has killed one home invader and a second was captured following the incident.

“They heard some noises, saw an individual at the back of the residence trying to come into their house,” said Lt. Eric Brady of Charlotte Mecklenburg Police according to WBTV.

A 14 year old boy who was visiting his grandmother used his grandfather’s gun to shoot and kill one of two home invaders, identified as Isai Robert Delcid, who broke into the home.

The second suspect, identified as Carlos Delcid, fled the scene but was later apprehended by police/

“Nobody likes to hear anything like this happened. A young fellow being involved… my grandson,” said George Wyant, the homeowner and the boy’s grandfather. “You wouldn’t think it would happen. Why would somebody come way up here, bust in a house? I don’t know,” he said.

We don’t have any information on the type of firearm used or the number of shots fired at this point.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the family’s first brush with crime. The grandparents have been burglarized before and the 14 year old lost his father when he was shot and killed outside of his automotive business 6 years ago.

This is the 51st defensive gun use we’ve documented in the state of North Carolina and the 1,366th defensive gun use we’ve documented overall.
