A TX homeowner stayed on the line with a 911 operator as someone broke into his home.

The homeowner can be said saying that the intruder had a knife.

That’s when the homeowner opened fire on the suspect, hitting him once in the stomach.

Police took the injured intruder into custody and he is being treated at an area hospital.

The suspect will be charged with burglary after being released from the hospital.

It is currently believed the crime was random. Police say it also appears the homeowner properly used his firearm in self defense.
