A TX man grabbed his .40 caliber handgun when he heard the sound of breaking glass in his home around at around 2:30 in the afternoon.

The homeowner confronted a man who broke into the home through a broken window. The intruder was armed with a knife and the homeowner shot him once in the stomach. The homeowner then held the suspect at gunpoint until police arrived.

Police arrived on the scene within 90 seconds. This is an amazing response time, but 90 seconds would have been more than enough time for the homeowner to have beens stabbed to death by the intruder. It’s fortunate that the homeowner took responsibility for his own safety or police could have walked into a murder scene instead of a self defense shooting.
