Stock Gun Photo - s&w_mod29_bluKeith Richards (we’ll assume no relation to the other one) is suspected in several burglaries in the Portsmouth, OH area recently.

During a recent alleged burglary, Richards was met with more resistance than normal.

According to reports, Richards was attempting to break into the home of a deceased woman. However, the woman’s brother happened to be in the home at the time, he also happened to be armed.

The brother opened fire on the suspect and hit him.

Richards was transported to an area hospital where he was placed on life support.

On Monday, the family decided to remove him from life support.

According to Community Common,

“It appears the shot was fired from inside the house toward the doorway, and he (Richards) was found in the doorway,” [Police Chief Robert] Ware said. “We’re looking at it as a case of self defense, because the presumption of it under the law is that you are acting in self defense unless we can come up with something to indicate otherwise. Basically under the Castle Doctrine, you have a right to defend yourself as the occupant of the home against an intrusion.”

While executing a search warrant, police found stolen goods in Richard’s home which they believe to be connected to other burglaries in the area.
