Police were searching for a 41 year old man who was wanted on several warrants in Iowa. The man had also blown through a toll booth in a stolen car before ditching the vehicle and disappearing into the farmlands of Kansas on foot.

A farmer spotted the man walking near his farm and towards a relative’s property. The farmer and his 17 year old son went to the relative’s home and proceeded to make sure the home and other buildings on the property were secure.

That’s when the suspect attacked the farmer, who shot him with a shotgun in self defense.

The suspect died from his injuries.

Police say the farmer clearly acted in self defense and no charges will be filed.
