Yet another story showing that semi-auto rifles are used for self defense just as much, if not more, than for criminal purposes.
In this case, a Henderson, NC man grabbed his AR15 when a morning home invader kicked in his back door. The homeowner, Jonathan Haith, grabbed his go-to weapon, an AR-15 rifle.
According to WRAL,
Someone kicked in the door, a Haith grabbed the AR-15 rifle he keeps under his bed.
“I crouched down, grabbed the firearm and was walking up the hallway,” he said. “As soon as I poked my head around the corner I saw a tall male standing there with a gun.”
Haith said he surprised the intruder.
“He shot first, I shot second,” he said. “He missed and I reckon I connected.”
The suspect was hit once in the abdomen. Police were able to apprehend that suspect as well as a second suspect who was waiting in a car.
