A 17 year old male was among four people who broke into a Franklin County, Ohio home wearing masks resembling the musical group Insane Clown Posse and wielding knives.

Fortunately, the homeowner, a single female, was armed and defender herself.

According to the Columbus Dispatch,

A 17-year-old boy was burglarizing a house in Prairie Township when the homeowner shot and killed him early on Saturday, Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott said this afternoon.

Reb Barbee was armed with a knife and wearing an Insane Clown Posse mask when he was shot in the living room of 8798 Hubard Dr. S, investigators said.

The homeowner, Heather Tackett, didn’t call 911, Scott said. She told investigators she didn’t realize she’d hit someone.

The four suspects fled the area and waited several hours before getting help for their shot friend. He died after reaching an area hospital.

The other three suspects were taken into custody. It is expected that murder charges will be fired against them in the death of their friend in the coming days. Ohio law allows accomplices in crime to be charged with murder if anyone, including another suspect, is killed during the commission of a crime.

This is the 69th defensive gun use we’ve documented in the state of Ohio and the 1,285th defensive gun use we’ve documented overall.
