Why was this not covered in 2010 when it occurred?

Apparently a man armed with 2 firearms entered a Tennessee school in 2010, held a gun to the principal’s head and began asking where the fire alarm was.

Fortunately the school’s armed resource officer was nearby and managed to draw her weapon, hold the man at gunpoint and allow the principal to escape to safety.

When other officers arrived on the scene the gunman pointed his weapon at the officers prompting the resource officer and the other 2 officers to open fire on the gunman.

He died of his injuries at an area hospital.

No students or staff were harmed thanks to an immediate armed response being available at the school.
