This is the second story in a week where the power to a home was cut prior to a home invasion taking place. Do you have a quality flashlight and do you have any low light self defense training? Now might be the time to invest as this seems it might be a new trend among home invaders.

A 55 year old husband and father in a gated Florida community went outside to investigate a sudden power outage. He realized something was up when he noticed none of the other houses or street lights on the block were affected.

That’s when the three men hiding in his driveway rushed at him and attempted to force their way into his home.

Fortunately, the homeowner’s wife advised him to arm himself before going outside and the homeowner fired at the three would be home invaders as he fell backwards into his home.

One of the men was hit multiple times and is being treated at an area hospital where he is listed in serious condition. The other 2 suspects remain at large.

The mam’s family say they believe the homeowner saved their lives.
