The Detroit Revolution continues. This it the fourth defensive gun use in the Motor City in less than two weeks. It seems that residents are finally getting tired of their city being overrun by criminals.

In this story, a Detroit woman in her 50’s had to use deadly force in order to protect herself and her home.

According to MLive,

The incident, which happened at about 3:30 p.m. Friday, marked the third time in less than two weeks that a Detroit homeowner with a legal gun has killed an intruder, and the fourth time a firearm has been used against a would-be attacker.

Police told The News that the woman, who is in her 50s, warned the intruder to stop after she saw the man coming in through a rear window of her house. The woman then retrieved a handgun and shot the man in the chest. The man then stumbled out in to the street and collapsed before being taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The homeowner is not expected to face charges.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig has said that armed, law-abiding citizens could deter crime in the city.

As mentioned by MLive, Police Chief Craig has voiced his support for legally armed citizens fighting back against a constantly rising criminal population in Detroit. It will certainly be interesting to see if this trend continues and if it does, if it acts as a successful preventative against further violent crime.
