A new dad in Ohio had just parked his car at his brother house when a man with a pistol approached him and demanded money.

The dad put his son, who he was carrying in his carseat, behind him to shield him from the assailant.

The suspect put his gun to the dad’s head and as the dad was handing over his cash, he also drew a gun (he is a concealed carry permit holder) and aimed it at the suspect.

The suspect then started to run away upon seeing the gun, but turned back towards the father and aimed his weapon at him. Fearing for his life, the dad took aim and fired one shot, striking the suspect.

Some time later a man matching the suspect’s description showed in an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.

The man is under police guard while he undergoes treatment.
